Migraine Management

The Woman's Migraine Toolkit

Migraine_cast_200x200 Migraines can be merely annoying or totally debilitating. MigraineCast is meant to offer you information, support, and encouragement.

Whether you have Migraines yourself or know someone who does, these podcasts are for you.

Today's podcast is a special one with Dr. Dawn Marcus, one of the authors of a new book, The Woman's Migraine Toolkit: Managing Your Headaches from Puberty to Menopause.

Migraine affects 18% of women, and all too often, women's Migraines take them away from time with their families, career options, and more. To add insult to injury, pregnant women have even more difficulty because they have fewer treatment options during pregnancy.

WomansMigraineToolkit100 Dr. Marcus and Dr. Bain have done a splendid job with this book, providing women of all ages with a cornucopia of information presented in a wayt that's easy to read and easy to go back to later.

For this podcast, Dr. Marcus joined me in a frank discussion of women and Migraine far beyond discussing the the book.

Migraine and Stigma, Part 2

Migraine_cast_200x200 Welcome to MigraineCast the podcast brought to you by Teri Robert and HelpForHeadaches.com.

Last week, I published our podcast, Migraine and Stigma, Part 1. Migraines and stigma is a vitally important topic, and the podcast was long enough that I broke it into two episodes.

A research poster was presented at the American Headache Society's 52nd Annual Scientific Meeting in June. This research looked at the stigma associated with Migraines and it's severity. What did the eresearchers find? What can we do about it? My guests for this podcast were Dr. WIlliam B. Young and Dr. Jung E. Park of the Jefferson Headache Center in Philadelphia. This topic is so important that the podcast was rather long, so I've broken it into two episodes. We published Part 1 last week; this is Part 2.

Ready for our newest podcast, the second part of last week's ? Here it is! Download Migraine and Stigma Part 2.mp3 (9901.6K). In some browsers, podcasts can be a bit slow to load, so please be patient if it doesn't load immediately. (In my experience, podcasts load and play fastest in Firefox.)

Migraines, Headaches, and Sleep: A VideoCast

Migraine_Cast_175Welcome to MigraineCast, brought to you by Teri Robert and HelpForHeadaches.com.

One of the most essential elements of Migraine and headache management is trigger identification and management. Why? Because some triggers are avoidable, and we want to avoid every Migraine and headache we can.

The importance of good sleep -- the right amount for each of us, regular sleep schedules, and good quality sleep - is overlooked all too often. Migraine and headache expert Dr. John Claude Krusz all discusses sleep with of his patients.

Sleep is the topic of this podcast. I'm trying something new today, a video podcast. Feel free to comment on this blog entry and let me know what you think!

Ready for our newest podcast? Here it is! Download Migraines Headaches and Sleep.mp4 (6014.5K). In some browsers, podcasts sometimes load a bit slowly, so please be patient. (In my experience, podcasts load and play most quickly in Firefox.)
